When our teacher asked us what was one thing we’d want the future president to know, there was 500 things that came to mind. Yet, for me, I focused in on my crusade to help those suffering from mental illness’ live a better life. When my class voted to send me speaking and another girls video I had no idea that we’d be picked to go on the PBS Student Reporting Labs website. I was practically glowing at a chance to make at least one person to think about those who can’t always stand up for themselves.
What if teenagers felt they had a voice in the future of our country? This election season, the Student Reporting Labs network of more than 100 schools across the country asked middle and high school students to talk to the next president about the issues they feel need to be addressed.
Thank you Lauren Spiezia for producing this video and my teacher Mrs. Mulshine for teaching us!
